Showcase Necron Seraptek Heavy Construct and Battlefield Birmingham 2019 Army

Morning Folks,

Doc back with another Necron focused post (with the previous post here) and as promised we have the Seraptek Heavy Construct ready to showcase built and painted by Redmist.  When we were talking about it and watching the work progress it is clear the model is very much a build and paint in sub assemblies.  This is particularly important with this model as parts of the chassis is see through and you can see the innards so if you don't paint them it will show.

This model was built and painted over several sessions.  The green has been hit with green stuff world fluorescent green which should reflect light and really pop.  The guns have been made so they can be removed and changed in a future date is desired.  Here are multiple pictures from different angles.

We are also showcasing some other recently finished units including acanthrites and a new (restored second hand) doomsday ark.  The doomsday ark has been given new Gauss weaponry using the immortals sprue and I have to say really helps the model.  In addition all our ghost ark type vehicles have larger bases for additional stability.

Lastly I have some photos of the full 2000 point force ready for the event.  Hopefully we have picked something fun and simple to play with a good damage output.

That's the full force which includes two of the new crypteks mine from the last post and Redmist which he converted the weapon to make them different.

Hope you like our necron force please let us know in the comments.

Cheers

Pre Heresy Death Guard Deathshroud Terminators Showcase

Hi All,

Doc here with another showcase post.  As I paint towards the Scribes of War Heresy event in Stratford at the end of the month I expect a couple of posts before it as I finish off the remaining units.  I will then do an after action report to showcase some of the best painted armies etc.

Anyway today's post is about my deathrshroud terminators.  I actually have 10 of them but have only painted the 6 in the list.  Time constraints have made me do that!  They are painted in my usual scheme and my white recipe can be found in my last showcase for my assault marines.  I had some issues with bent weapons and did my best to straighten them using the hairdryer method.  Without further do here is some pictures:

As usual hope you like it constructive comments and questions are most welcome..

Pre Heresy Death Guard Assault Marines Showcase - Squaduary 2019

Hi All,

Doc here with my finished squaduary project for 2019.  I have been showing progress of these over on instagram (code40kdoc) and facebook.  I have my first ever heresy event at the end of March so I am needing to crack on!

This unit is one of my troop choices and unusually for my death guard are quite fast with jump packs.  As always the first stage is to get the base white done.  As this is an army project its about being able to pump out large numbers of models in a relatively short time so my white recipe is:

Airbrush Vallejo Grey Primer
Recess Wash Agrax Earthshade
Airbrush top down and 45 degree angle white

Ta da thats it!  Then I paint up all the rest of the gubbins and end with some sponge weathering using GW leadbelcher.  Here are some showcase photos:

Just to say due to time constraints transfers will be revisited later on if time permits before the event.  Hope you like constructive feedback is welcome!

Cheers

Arming for Cypra Incident Showcase - Forgeworld Maraunder Bomber

Hi All,

Doc back again with the second showcase post in as many days this time the big boy the Maraunder Bomber.  First off to say I am happy this model is over it has been a pain in the ass!  The mold at foregworld is clearly at the end of its shelf life and the sheer weight of the thing makes it hard to work with.  The standard flying base in my opinion isnt sufficient for this model so I enlisted Innermech aptly named in this case to build me a new one!  That took two attempts as the weight broke the first one instantly.  Anyway its all finished now and forms the centre piece of our next mission in the Cypra Incident.  Boss Bludtoof will be posting up more on that soon.  In the meantime if you want to catch up on all the posts in the cypra incident click here.

Here goes showcase time followed by a family photo of all my flyers:

As always hope you like the newest member of the 19th Dicers if you would like to add a constructive comment please do so.  If you want to ask any questions on how any of this was achieved go right ahead.

Cheers

Further Build Progress for the Cypra Incident and Battlefield Birmingham

Hi All,

Bit of a long time since any of us have blogged.  I know there is frantic work going on for for Golden Demon, Battlefield Birmingham and in mine and Boss's case The Cypra Incident.  For me its finding time to sit in front of the keyboard and share the progress which is challenging!

Anyway......  I promised last time to share the next BIG build project so here it is a massive treat to myself a while back

What's that you ask?

So daunting at the beginning..

I kept going...

The beast appears (Maraunder Bomber) after several hours work spread across multiple days.  Love the model hard work to put together.  None of the turrets are glued in this picture to aid the painting process.

I then felt the need to do a size comparison!  In mind its the ultimate super heavy flyer and will see its first action in the next cypra 'airfield mission'.

This means I have now concluded the build work for the next cypra mission.  However at this stage I still wanted to build something for my proposed Battlefield Birmingham list.

So with the advent of Forgebane and the new mini knights (armigers) I loved them.  Also as a necron player it added to that force also.  I was keen to get some movement into the poses and decided to make one running.  The 14" move rule prompted the posing in my head.  Also decided to make then have opposite weapon arms to each other for further variety.

The next job was a mega airbrush priming session!

Was super proud to have got to this stage and then a day later realisation that's a lot to paint!  Priority will be the units for Battlefield Birmingham the knights, vulture and scions.

Until next time when hopefully I will be showing you some painted minis or at minimum WIP.

Cheers

Hobby Progress the 19th Dicers - Arming for Cypra and Arming for Battlefield Birmingham Doubles

Afternoon All,

I have been so busy lately working away but not posting except for the odd bit through instagram and our facebook page.  I actually have enough hobby progress for a few posts but today I will focus on the Imperial Guard.

I have signed up to go to a battlefield Birmingham doubles event in June with Dark Bristles, Boss Bludtoof, Luko Dakka, Innermech and the Barber.  So the code will be representing.  Expect to see hobby updates as everyone gets ready.

As I am also trying to prepare for the next Cypra Airfield Mission (see last post for info) I have decided to take the 19th with some new additions. A two birds one stone approach which in reality is entirely necessary for me to stand a chance.

So as I am going to work on this as a group here are the current new builds:

As I need 4 flyers for the airfield mission and only currently have 1 finished a Valkyrie here is the built and primed Avenger Strike Fighter.  Nice Kit went together fairly straight forwardly.  Hardest bit was sawing off the large chunks of resin!

The next new flyer is a Vulture Gunship with punisher cannons.  Well apart from the rules for this thing being immense it looks cool.  Slightly harder to build than the avenger mixing plastic and resin was tricky as was getting the plastic tail fins to fit against the resin. Again big chunks of resin to saw away.

WIP shot early on:

Fully Built:

You may of noticed lurking in these shots are some Scions and these are the 3rd new build.

So quite a bit of painting to get done but also 1 more flyer to come which I will keep as a surprise (a big surprise hint hint!)  Last little hobby update before I move on:

I also picked up this new hobby light, its pricey but worth every penny when living in dark old blighty!

Thats all folks look forward to showing you more soon.

Cheers

Deimos Pattern Vindicator with Laser Destroyer - The build

Evening All,

Quick post this evening to show my latest build project a laser destroyer vindicator. A few issues with the build not least the sides which slot together differently to standard rhino kits so watch out for that.  I currently have a plan to go into a build phase for my death guard before a tank batch paint to ensure I get a consistent finish.

Also just to note the next post in the series using the inter webs will hit this weekend and will be all about video battle reports.

Ok quick pick of the completed build:

Cheers
