Showcase Genestealer Cult Mining Colony

 Hi All,

So what did Doc do after completing his Dreadtober so quick?

Answer decided to tackle an insane amount of terrain.

So why didn't Doc share WIP as he went?

Answer he was enjoying himself too much!

Joking aside the video above showcases a new terrain set I have worked on for the last couple of months.  It is from a variety of manufacturers as explained in the video.  There is a mass of conversion work and new techniques in here I am very happy with the result and could write a really long post on the build and paint of this project.  I wont I will let the video and stills below do the talking.  If you want to know anything specific or feel a tutorial would be good please comment below.  Anyway pic fest time (also to note these are the same stills as at the end of the video).

Hope you like this set as much as I do thanks for looking.

Cheers

Blood Bowl Fever : Lizardmen wip

Howdo, long time no blogging for me.

I've played Lizardmen for a long time, so my skinks are old warhammer models with the weapons removed (the quivers are filled with rocks to slow them down so the elves can catch them).

The Sauri (Saurusesesss?) are a new addition found in a bits box at the local fgs (Worcester Wargames), they're Salamanders from Mantics Kings of War range, the scale is good against the new GW minis as the old Sauri are only human sized however I may have to find a new Kroxigor.

In an attempt to get back into the swing I've installed an app on my phone 'cos I never seem to have chance on computers. (scratch that, the blogger app is as useful as a chocolate fireguard so went back to the browser)

Cheers and remember the ball!

Red Mists Sexy Yellow Enforcers

Hi everyone

Red Mist here, I've been quiet for a while but I've not been idol.

As well as adding to my Khorne chaos marines army (more of that on another post to follow), we in the code have fallen upon Mantics new Deadzone game and boy are we excited.

When asked what faction I would like to be, there was only one answer, Enforcers, bringing justice to the darkest corners of Nexus Psi.

What colour to paint them, well I've never painted anything yellow so why not start with these, so here we have my strike team, so far, with some reinforcements on route ;-).

Team Mist in all its yellow glory!!!

and a close up shot....

Simple paint scheme, yellow base with earthshade wash, then a drybrush highlight, and a final wash to blend the shading a bit.

Dark and moody, just how I like it.

Next on the list is the scout... hard as nails... more to follow.

Hope you like.

Deadzone update - Completed Enforcers

Hi All,

So in true DOC style I left finishing my enforcers to day before our Deadzone day.  Well when I say finishing I actually started and completed 7 of these models today!!  The first batch I completed are here.  Nice to add a further 8 points to my tally!

Anyway on to the showcase:

So there you go all done.  Whilst not my best efforts, as with the first batch I again got to practice sponge weathering.  My main concern moving forward to more precision work is getting a small enough piece of sponge so I can just catch the edges more accurately.  I might make myself a tool with small piece of sponge on the end?  Ill have a think on that one.  Anybody else got a good idea for this please comment below.

The eagle eyed amongst you may have noticed I have more painting points than I have posted up on here. That is because my next post will be my already completed Imperial Knight.  Why Doc have you not shown it until now?  Well that's because I wanted to surprise Red Mist with it in our recent 4K battle.  It was nice to plop such an imposing model down as a surprise and his face was well worth it!  So it seems Code40K is about to have an Imperial Knight segment!

Thats all for now folks

DOC out...
