More Thunderwolves Ride In and A New Bike Mounted Rune Priest

Hi All,

Doc back with some more preparation for the Cypra Incident: Birth of the Beast of Cypra campaign. Firstly I have added a couple more Thunderwolves to take me up to a full squad of 5.

These two have been added as none of the other 3 have high strength or AP2 weapons which has proven to be a weakness in the past.  I have to say I really love these models!

I have also kit bashed together a rune priest on a bike for not other reason than I thought it might be a nice option.

I will give this guy some glowing eyes in the paint job and paint the runes on the sword to glow also. He is also covered in many totems as befits his position within the chapter.

As always comments are welcome.

Cheers

Worcester War 3 - Nearly Ready... The Characters: Inquisitor, Rune Priest, Thunderwolf Lord

Evening All,

Doc here...  Haven't been on here for a while and in my absence I have been quite busy preparing for Worcester War 3 and working on my pre heresy death guard.   Ill save the death guard for another day.  So today's post is about characters in my army for the upcoming Worcester War 3.

Originally I had intended to go with the Death Guard but white takes so long to paint and I realised I wasn't going to make it.  So I have reverted to my space wolves.  Although the army is far off my current standards (in terms of painting quality) I wanted to add some new elements to go in it along with the fact the codex is also quite new.

I have been working of my Thunderbear (alternative thunderwolf) Lord.  If you want to read more about him please go here and here.  He's not quite finished but has progressed and will be finished by the end of the week.  It has to be finished the event is next weekend!

I have also converted up a new Rune Priest using the Dark Angel librarian from Dark Vengeance. Essentially I:

  •  cut off all the DA iconography
  • swapped his arm out
  • used a space wolf shoulder pad
  • used a space wolf back pack
  • added a space wolf knife
  • added a wolf pelt to the right arm
He's painted to match the rest of the army and was bashed out quite quick but I'm happy he will match in with the other space wolves

Next up I decided to make use of the inquisitor codex for the first time and my fellow code player Red Mist hooked me up with this Inquisitor (Thanks buddy).  I've gone for the classic inquisitor colours of red and black.  Again painted quickly  but a good result for the amount of time and I wanted him on the table.

All this leaves me to be ready for next weekend is to finish the thunderbear and convert up 3 servo skull markers.  I may also make myself some 1-6 markers for maelstrom missions.  As always comments and constructive criticism is welcome.

Thats all folks

A New Thunderwolf (Bear) Lord WIP

Hi All,

DOC here again to give an update on my WIP thunderbear lord.  I originally posted up buiding the model up here. Once again a deadline is pushing this project along.  This time its a 4k game vs Red Mists Khorne some of which can be seen here.  Yes that's a Warhound you saw!!  We have decided not to play Apoc but rather try out escalation rules for the first time.  Not sure how I'm going to kill it mind you.  Anyway I digress here is some work in progress shots of my new lord:

Making a New Thunderwolf (bear) Lord

Hi All,

Doc is back to talk about my new thunderwolf mounted space wolf lord.  One problem with that statement he's actually mounted on a bear!  I'm a big fan of using alternative models to make my army stand out if possible.  So last year I went down to London and went in Dark Sphere and picked up Scibor's Celtic Lord mounted on a bear.

Space Wolf Reinforcements

Hi All,

DOC again and more building of models (how many more you say) LOTS is the answer!!  So this week ive been adding to my space wolf army and i ashamed to say every figure in this post is present of one sort or another and as yet i have done nothing with them! Not any longer!

Ok first up Canis Wolfborn (in metal thats how long ive had him to do!) This guy weighs in... easily the heaviest model ive done for a while and a real pain to put together.  I drilled and pinned as many parts as possible.  I think if you dont with this much weight it will get broken.  Ive also filled in all the gaps with the greenstuff and used the thousand son head from the thunderwolf sprue on the base.

Two more thunderwolves ready to pounce.  This is the remainder from my set of three.  Please see my other thunderwolf post.  Ive decided to make my squad of thunderwolves troop killers and survivable.  So ive armed one with a wolf claw and storm shield (see post link), one with storm shield and close combat weapon and one with close combat weapon and bolt pistol.  This will allow me to position the unit in order to keep them alive I.E storm shield guy at front wolf claw at back.

This forgeworld dreadnought was a birthday present for my 30th (im nearly 33!) from the other members of the code Thanks Guys!  My only problem with this model is the cool banner (not in the picture) which is huge but will be easily broke.  Ive decided to put a long pin into it so i can slot it in before each game and take it out for casing purposes.  The base is from 616 Designs and this is my third space wolf dreadnought see these previous posts,  this post and lastly this post.

Fenrisian Wolves (ok its not) but thats what im going to use them as.  My good friend Hendrix gave me 5 of these so ive green stuffed there backs with fur and this will take me up to twenty fenrisian wolves!  Heres my previous fenrisian wolves post.  With Canis and Thunderwolves it will be a niced themed list to play with.

Last picture is Arjac Rockfirst an xmas present from 2011.  Not much to say about this, apart from awesome model looking forward to painting this one!
Well guys as you can see the stack grows ever bigger for painting once again youll see them again when they have paint on (not sure which year yet though!)
