Space Wolf Reinforcements

Hi All,

DOC again and more building of models (how many more you say) LOTS is the answer!!  So this week ive been adding to my space wolf army and i ashamed to say every figure in this post is present of one sort or another and as yet i have done nothing with them! Not any longer!

Ok first up Canis Wolfborn (in metal thats how long ive had him to do!) This guy weighs in... easily the heaviest model ive done for a while and a real pain to put together.  I drilled and pinned as many parts as possible.  I think if you dont with this much weight it will get broken.  Ive also filled in all the gaps with the greenstuff and used the thousand son head from the thunderwolf sprue on the base.

Two more thunderwolves ready to pounce.  This is the remainder from my set of three.  Please see my other thunderwolf post.  Ive decided to make my squad of thunderwolves troop killers and survivable.  So ive armed one with a wolf claw and storm shield (see post link), one with storm shield and close combat weapon and one with close combat weapon and bolt pistol.  This will allow me to position the unit in order to keep them alive I.E storm shield guy at front wolf claw at back.

This forgeworld dreadnought was a birthday present for my 30th (im nearly 33!) from the other members of the code Thanks Guys!  My only problem with this model is the cool banner (not in the picture) which is huge but will be easily broke.  Ive decided to put a long pin into it so i can slot it in before each game and take it out for casing purposes.  The base is from 616 Designs and this is my third space wolf dreadnought see these previous posts,  this post and lastly this post.

Fenrisian Wolves (ok its not) but thats what im going to use them as.  My good friend Hendrix gave me 5 of these so ive green stuffed there backs with fur and this will take me up to twenty fenrisian wolves!  Heres my previous fenrisian wolves post.  With Canis and Thunderwolves it will be a niced themed list to play with.

Last picture is Arjac Rockfirst an xmas present from 2011.  Not much to say about this, apart from awesome model looking forward to painting this one!
Well guys as you can see the stack grows ever bigger for painting once again youll see them again when they have paint on (not sure which year yet though!)

Saga (Gaming not Ageing)

Hi All,

Doc here again and on a posting roll for 2013.  This is a small one to keep the hand on the tiller so to speak.  So as i write this i have a couple of weeks to my second Saga gaming event.  If at this point your thinking what are you on about take a look at my first saga post.

So the second event being run by wyvern wargames ups the anti to 6 pts.  That means more figures... It also means more painting.....

So ive plumped for Levies as it will give me access to missile fire from gripping beast. Im really looking forward to taking part in more aspects of the game so ive also plumped for some cavalry from warlord games.  I have a vision of some cool looking blue warpaint on the bare chests of the cavalry but well see how it goes!!

So my building project continues apace.  Its a deliberate effort to get all the figures i have lying around built and undercoated.  Next for building space wolves!  Once again ill post a picture when these are painted.  Over and Out DOC

Terrain Glorious Terrain

Hi All,

Doc here back with another post.  So by now you might be starting to realise i have lots of projects on the go.......

Warning this post will have lots of picture and not lots of words although ill add some for artistic licence!  Ive previously mentioned i like building and painting terrain.  So as i havent done any for a couple of years i thought i would get some new stuff up and running.  So heres some work in progress shots...

Space Marine Statue (Speaks for itself painting it however opens up options!)

Citadel trees, i have to say im a real fan of these and i like the fact they are free standing and can be removed from the base when playing!  I will be adding the canopies after painting.

Scatter terrain in my opinion is vital.  Often i see tables with little terrain!! As a general rule in my opinion i like a lot of terrain!  This piece is made from spares and a small feature from the honoured imperium set.

This piece is themed for the necrons and sports some scibor minatures egyptian pieces.

Closer shot of the egyptian pieces.

Ill post completed pics when they are all done.

Scibor 54mm Display Piece

Hi All,

So to start this post heres a question; How many of our mothers take a genuine interest in our Hobby?  Well im nearly 33 and still remember when i was boy, my mum painting the goblins from 3rd edition warhammer gold!!  Yes the classic of not shaking the paint up first!  The funny thing is she was so happy with her efforts.  Anyway i digress... 6 months ago my mum asked, "when are you going paint me something for my mantle piece" me, "er never"  After the hotspot noise had gone off in the room it changed to, "you are going to paint me something!"  Me recovering composure and seizing an oppurtunity, "ok its your 60th birthday early next year ill do one for then!" (thinking thats ages away and she will forget!)

Fast forward to today guess what she didnt forget and reminded me so at xmas!  And joking aside its quite nice to be asked to a display piece.  So next question is what to do? and how to get it done for the 16th March 2013!  (there will be no deadline stretch on this one!)   So after playing on the internet for a few hours i chose:  (drum roll).......

"Alfred The Fearless Monster Killer" by scibor minatures

This is the first scibor figure i have bought and to be fair i wasnt entirely happy with the mold, sheer amount of flash and how brittle the hat and gun are!  In the process of building the model the arm holding the gun broke.  This is now held together by three metal pins!  Despite this i like the figure and have added some little touches a cloth drape on the hat and a captains armband affair which i intend to use roman numerals to date the model!  Lastly i cut some rod up for used shell casings on the base.

Im not quite sure what the colour scheme will be yet but in my mind hes a witch hunter (Van Helsing) type character.  So muted shades i expect.  I will post pictures once ive finished it.

Dakka-dakka-dakka-dakka-Hahahahahahahahahhahahahahah-Dakka-dakka-BOOOOOOOM!

So, SVA XII is just round the corner and I'm clearly not gonna get my marine drop pod list finished in time. I toyed with the idea of taking a Tau force, what with 6th ed being gun friendly, however after due consideration I still think Tau are out of their league and desperately in need of a new codex.
I then had a mooch round my painting room and spotted my Ork fighta/bomma kits still sat in their boxes since last year. Hey presto mega nobz, boyz, more boyz, grotz aplenty, kanz, lootas, kannonz, shokk attack gunz and the joyous dakka jet ahoy!!
Ork lists are just easy..... stick in all the glorious killy stuff you love and you're on to a winner, even if you lose every game! Most fun army in the hobby for my money. I can guarantee I'll have a great weekend stomping all over beakies and bad-beakies and stoopid pointy eared space demons. Haha!
Oh yeah and I'll also be taking my Skullhamma battlefortress and some rokkit buggies for the mini apoc games! Sweet!
So, enough gloating! I've spent the last 2 days turning 1 1/2 fighta/bomma kits into a dakka jet suitable to grace the forces of Boss Bluddtoof. Here's a few piccies........
