Morning Folks,
Doc back with another Necron focused post (with the previous post here) and as promised we have the Seraptek Heavy Construct ready to showcase built and painted by Redmist. When we were talking about it and watching the work progress it is clear the model is very much a build and paint in sub assemblies. This is particularly important with this model as parts of the chassis is see through and you can see the innards so if you don't paint them it will show.
This model was built and painted over several sessions. The green has been hit with green stuff world fluorescent green which should reflect light and really pop. The guns have been made so they can be removed and changed in a future date is desired. Here are multiple pictures from different angles.
We are also showcasing some other recently finished units including acanthrites and a new (restored second hand) doomsday ark. The doomsday ark has been given new Gauss weaponry using the immortals sprue and I have to say really helps the model. In addition all our ghost ark type vehicles have larger bases for additional stability.
Lastly I have some photos of the full 2000 point force ready for the event. Hopefully we have picked something fun and simple to play with a good damage output.
That's the full force which includes two of the new crypteks mine from the last post and Redmist which he converted the weapon to make them different.
Hope you like our necron force please let us know in the comments.
Cheers

New Games Room / New Scenery
Hi All,
I have been fortunate enough to be able to convert the back half of my garage into an office / games room and I thought you fellow geeks would like to see it. I am sure it is something we all want. I have certainly wanted one for several years. My wife is very happy to have now deposited me and all "my stuff" out of the house!
Anyway the whole process took about 3 weeks as was undertaken by mums partner a builder by trade very handy person to have in the family! and thanks Roy!

Necrons Prepare for Battlefield Birmingham Doubles 2019
Hi All,
I am busy preparing for Battlefield Birmingham doubles on the 8th and 9th June. Me and Redmist have decided to take our long standing force of the Necrons. So in order to do the some new reinforcement were in order starting with some additional destroyers. Why destroyers because as everyone knows they are the best unit in the current codex...

So in order to do the some new reinforcement were in order starting with some additional destroyers. Why destroyers because as everyone knows they are the best unit in the current codex...
The paint job is designed to match the scheme of many years and is easy to reproduce and effective. I do like the Necrons for getting stuff on the table quickly! Next up is a new Cryptek! Now this mini has moved to my new favourite Necron mini it has a great pose, so much detail, imposing and was just cool to paint. So despite the simple scheme I tried to level up the metal work with the highlighting etc... See what you think.
So hopefully you like these two new additions to my army. Constructive feedback is always welcome. Soon I will be sharing Redmists Seraptek Heavy Construct!
Cheers
That's all folks

Imperial Knight Paladin Showcase
Posted on Behalf of Trevdog
I got it when the Box set with two in came out. I grabbed one on its own from Worcester Wargames.
I've built quite a bit in my car, sat in the car park, before going into work and the knight was one of them. 15-20 minutes each time and slowly the model took shape, almost like a Mechanicus Tech Priest toiling over his work, murmuring liturgies and oiling the components with revered care......
I didn't paint it in the car, although you may think so from the paint job.
I wanted a quick and easy paint scheme so primed with grey after seeing the White Warden model in the codex. Kept the armour plates off and primed the skeleton in black, over brushed with silver then inked with brown and black. A little silver dry brush in places helped for some areas.
The plates took most of the time, and I almost forgot to say, the basing took a while too.
The crazy paving affect didn't send me too insane. I just wanted it finished while I had the time.
I'm just happy to have a big boy ready for battle.
Such a long time since I posted on the blog, and really happy to get something finished. It's a big'un. My Paladin Knight!

Ed's comments (DOC) I really like the marble effect armour panels and the the sword motif. This model is quite bright so the dark base works really well fair play Trevdog!
That's my comments but as usual folks please leave constructive comments for Trevdog to read.
Cheers

Scribes of War Showcase Heresy Event Write Up
Hi All,
This post will be a long one not too many words though but lots of pictures of many cool minis from the heresy event I attended last weekend in Stratford. Hosted by Scribes of War and ran by Chris me and Bristles had a fantastic time at the event and are really looking forward to next years already!
One of the really great touches of the weekend was that every attendee received a little black box ....
Anyway whilst this massive apoc game went on the rest of us played 3 games split across the day and I had great fun with my three opponents Ben, David and Ollie.
My first game was against a sisters focused talons of the emperor army ran by the experienced Ben. The mission was bloodfeud and although I was in it early game. Ben's experience told in the end and he ran out winner 14vps to 8vps. I managed to get a shot with all my opponents so cue selfie and a couple of shots from the game.

I admit on the day I didn't really get time to study the contents other than a quick glance but after closer inspection at home I found....
All these cool bits, so cool such a great touch and they will be put to good use and for those straining their eyes the conversion world bit was a great axe!
Right onto the day itself which was split simply between a loyalist and traitor side with apocalypse table in the centre of the room and normal gaming tables surrounding it. I was on the normal gaming table with Bristles on the apoc table for the day with his knights and mechanicum. I snapped this shot around deployment of the apoc table (it looked so friggin cool!) Yes you see right that is a warlord in the flesh....

Really loved the dune style flyers on the desert board and the contrast of the armies against the scenery
Those power axes so pretty! More pictures of the sisters element in the army showcase below.
My second game was against David Brain of 30k channel fame. It was cool to meet him in person and play the quickest guy ever and we had one hell of a game it was just so close! The mission was shatterstrike and in addition we had extra secret missions from the organisers. I got so excited I forgot to take any pictures of the game apart from the (yes you guessed it!) the selfie! The game ended an amazing 7 all draw!
I do think this selfie conveys the fun level we had! David's Mechnaicum do appear in the army showcase below however!
Game 3 arrived and the dreaded fatigue was starting to set in and luckily for my it was against an absolute gent in the form of Ollie and his Iron Warriors. Apart from falling over my tray luckily without figures on it couldn't of gone better for me with my dice being sublime and Ollie's being well atrocious.
The mission was tide of carnage plus an extra relic mission anyway by the end of turn 4 Ollie had 5 models left and I was left feeling very lucky and guilty about how obscene my dice were! Anyway I did manage some snaps of this game and the selfie of course!
Ok, on to the absolute picture fest or drool fest if you love heresy. I charged round at lunch snapping pictures of all the amazing looking armies so here they are:
Ben's Sisters
Ben's Sisters
Ollie's Iron Warriors
Ollie's Iron Warriors
Ollie's Iron Warriors
David's Mechanicum
David's Mechanicum
David's Mechanicum
Well if you are still reading or looking at this point hopefully you will agree what a high standard to the armies at the event. I think this was a gold standard event and the winner was everyone the hobby and so on. Till next year when hopefully the Death Guard will have expanded somewhat!
That's all folks
