Dreadtober Leviathan Dreadnought is Finished Hoorah!

 Hi All,

Well i've cracked on for sure as my Dreadtober pledges are finished.   Although I had a hiccup with the chipping effect.....

All was going well at this stage and I had even had a go at my first free hand!  Then I needed to do the chipping stage.

As you can see it pulled the paint off all the way back to the resin and destroyed my free hand at the same time.  However in most areas it worked really well...

I manged to get the airbrush back out and fix the damaged area quite successfully and then I got motoring and all WIP pictures went out the window as I was in the happy hobby zone loving how it was progressing and then suddenly ta da.......

I think the oil wash really helps give this grimdark look I am going for with this army. I genuinely love this with the exception of the wonky cod piece!!

Anyway that's all folks hope you like it!

Cheers

Dreadtober week 1 progress

 Hi All,

I've had a good first week at Dreadtober and have finished the Reaver Titan:

Many pictures are on my instagram here:

https://www.instagram.com/p/CGA-8fVHuw7/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link

I am really pleased how its turned out with the pre shade working very well on the armour and managing to pull off the stripes with a chipping effect as well.  The base suits and I must admit I like the versatile terrain names it really suits AT models.

I have also progressed my second project the Leviathan Dreadnought its current status is:

You might wander why a space wolf dreadnought is rusty brown well this is the base coat which has been varnish sealed as this will be what you see when the top coats are chipped back to reveal damage and rusting.  Again solid start and looking forward to getting more done.

Keep going folks we need something positive to focus on in these crazy times.

Cheers

 Hey all,

Time to get cracking in the meantime if you wanna get involved head on over to https://dreadtober.blogspot.com/ and remember to use the #dreadtober when posting on instagram and social media.

Lords a Reaping 17 : Homemade Relic Spartan WIP

Seasons Greetings

"Lets do LoW" we all said, "Sounds good" I said ....
Then went and looked throught the hobby pile and realised I don't actually own any .... Doh.

With it being so close to the Emperors Birthday going out and buying resin would probably be frowned on, however I happened to have a Land Raider hangin around in a state of disrepair just longin for the Iron Priests attentions :)

As its a Relic the plan is to make it more like the LR 2B with enclosed sponsons, the chassis itself is 25mm longer and 10mm wider so should look suitably bigger then a Raider

A long way to go :)
More to come from everyone
Cheers

Dreadtober - Bjorn Again

No not them :)

As promised I found a better camera

The last of the Company of Russ

When your the oldest living Space Marine and watched Prospero burn I think you deserve a bit of bling, I did some conversions to him too - He stands slightly taller then other Dreads and as you can make out I bent his leg and remodelled his CC arm to a slightly more active pose then a normal Dread.

With his bodyguards they'll make a fairly nasty Vanguard Detachment and because hes a character with only 8 wounds he can't be targeted easily :D

Cheers and Thanks for all the kind comments

Dreadtober Update - Bjorn's Bodyguards

Hi all

So my youngest has invited Papa Nurgle to stay with us for a week or two so blogging time has been scarce (and there's been fantastic models/painting on here this month).

However it doesn't mean I haven't been busy :)

The honour guard are 90% done and so I'm leaving them til the Old One is finished.
I know, I said Bjorn was my goal but if I'd start him 1st these would never have been done :)

Cheers all

Dreadtober is here again

Good Evening All,
So...  many years ago I bought a Space Wolf dread kit (the one with 1 body and multiple character parts), I took the Murderfang bits and made a contemptor for Dreadtober '15 but the rest has waited and waited and waited (you get the idea)

But now after sitting on the shelf staring at me here's the motivation to get some done :).

So the plan is to get as much of 4 Dreads done in a month, if i can finish Bjorn I'll call it a win

This is how it begins, this will make Bjorn and an honour guard of  Dreads
More to follow

Cheers

More Thunderwolves Ride In and A New Bike Mounted Rune Priest

Hi All,

Doc back with some more preparation for the Cypra Incident: Birth of the Beast of Cypra campaign. Firstly I have added a couple more Thunderwolves to take me up to a full squad of 5.

These two have been added as none of the other 3 have high strength or AP2 weapons which has proven to be a weakness in the past.  I have to say I really love these models!

I have also kit bashed together a rune priest on a bike for not other reason than I thought it might be a nice option.

I will give this guy some glowing eyes in the paint job and paint the runes on the sword to glow also. He is also covered in many totems as befits his position within the chapter.

As always comments are welcome.

Cheers
