Necron Triarch Stalker

Hi All,

Just before xmas i put the finishing touches to my triarch stalker and in the process learnt a clear lesson!

So firstly i hope you like the paint job im pretty happy and it matches up nicely with some of the previous work ive done.  This was my main concern with at least 6 months between this and the last time i painted crons.  Luckily (tip spoiler alert!) i had the foresight to make up two pots of the grey paint which is a self mix so i didnt have to remember how to make the colour!

So a clear lesson was mentioned in the intro...  So can you spot what is missing??

If you can then my error is clear, but if you can't then heres an explanation.  I decided in my infinite wisdom not to put the pilot in cockpit when i built the stalker thinking it would be easier to paint before puting him in.  Well it turns out yes it is easier to paint before putting it in but then i could not get him in the seat properly! Specifically the spine part which attaches to the machine in three separate places.  So after turning the air blue i simply gave up with that piece!!  So the moral of the story MEN of the world is follow the instructions!!  At minimum read them!

At the end of this cautionary tale i conclude this post.....

Thats all folks

My Painted Collection

Hey again

Since our blog administrator has cracked the whip and asked us all to post a bit more frequently and as the only current project with suitable piccies at the mo are my new gobbos which are in the previous post I thought I'd post some piccies of my painted collection of 40k stuff.
This includes my Space Marine Chapter, The Thunderbolts, my Necrons which will be hopefully going to new loving homes soon and of course my Space Orks...........

Necrons Rising

Hi Guys,

Red Mist here, I've been quite for a while, what with holidays, the football and gardening. But that doesn't mean I have been idle in the evening.

As you know DOC and myself decided to pool our Necron forces, what with GW prices the way they are, and what a good idea it has been.

Now rising from the earth is the Royal Court, 2 Lords and 5 crypteks ready to do battle.

And what better to fight by the side of them than a rock hard destroyer lord, with a +2 armour save,  resurrection orb, toughness of 6 and now with an AP1 weapon, everyone had better watch out.

Also rising is a squad of Lychguard, with toughness and strenth of 5, AP3 weapons and +4 inv save these guys are truly kick-ass, just ask DOCs space wolves.

What's that coming over the hill, just Necron skimmers that's what, in the shape of a Ghost Ark and Annilation Barge, (photo not available)

What's next you ask well just look to the sky....

a DOOM SCYTHE, really looking forward to testing out this bad boy in 6th.

Well that's it from me for now, next project lined up, a second scythe and a certain Necron bodyguard.

Red Mist signing off.

Necrons, CODE 40K SVA T-Shirts

Hi All,

DOC is back with a new post........

So there are 8 members of the code group going to SVA this year and so we decided to geek it up and get some t shirts done with our logo on.  Red Mist kindly cleaned up the logo from the site and arranged the printing of the T Shirts.  Thanks for doing this Mist

So what do you think?

So this time in two weeks the code boys will be in Reading for SVAXII, as a result im having to step up the painting.  So here follows some progress pictures of the Necron Army:

Some of the above came from the hands of Red Mist including the CTAN but i have re based it all to match up together (MIST I hope you like?).  I still have 10 Sacrabs, 2 lords, Destroyer Lord, Overlord and Cryptek to do.  Its getting tight but luckily im off work this week so will hopefully get cracking.  Coming later this week more painted Necron Pictures

Red Mist Rises

Hi Geek Fans,

Red Mist here again, just thought I'd share my latest titbits ready for this years SVA.

First off as you know my Imperial Guard, The 7th Catachan or 'Lucky Sevens' have for years been a foot based army, now thanks to the increased production from the Hive Cities I have recently taken in our mini campaign I have taken delivery of lots of shiney new chimeras and tanks, including new Leman Russ (as below) and a Manticore and Hydra (images to follow).

This is fully retro fittable with detachable main weapons and sponsons, lovely.

Secondly, I'm also helping my good friend DOC out with his necrons, here is Imotek the Stormlord in all his glory ready to deal out lightning dealth to all of us.

Thirdly, I'm currently working on a Praetorian Squad here is my work in progress so far, what do you think DOC?

Well thats me signing off, back to the painting table.

See you all soon in the mud.

Planestrike Crons hit the Brick Wall. Necron Heavy Destroyers

Hi All,

Doc Here with an update, First off ill talk about planet strike as i posted previously:

http://code40k.blogspot.com/2012/02/necron-countdown-to-svaxii.html

I played my first game of planet strike the other day and put simply i got it wrong wrong and bit more wrong! Ok so this maybe basic to everyone else but the key basic things i learnt were:
Its not about blowing up the bunkers.
Just because you have deep strike you dont have to charge on the first turn, Particulary if the reprisal will wipe that unit out!
You still need numbers, I picked a super elite army and it didnt have enough survability.

When the opposition is in a bunker use the firing slit angles to reduce the amount of fire you take. Dont deep strike to far away from where your reserves will come on and dont deep strike near your opponents reserve deployment area.

Theyre all basic but trust me once you start playing we are all capable of forgetting the basics!

On a more positive note ive got some more Necron work completed. Ive built some converted heavy destroyers. So Pics first, explanation second:

So how do i build them? First off i cut the end off the gauss cannon. Next i cut the centre from a dispersion shield to form the top of the gun. I next attached a standard green rod to the underside of this and attached the top from a warscythe to the bottom. Finnally i re-attached the gauss cannon end. Simple result, but im happy with them and they dont have the weight issue's that the GW ones have and it saves money!!

Thats all Folks
